Using a DJI Phantom or Inspire, insurers can efficiently evaluate claims. If an area is hit by a storm or disaster, a UAV can survey the area to review and assess damages. This is a cost-effective strategy to collect clear images as useful data.

According to Jeremy Reynolds with RTI Forensics, drone technology is a great tool for the insurance field: “When there’s been an accident of some kind, whether a failure of a piece of equipment or a building that has collapsed or an aircraft has crashed, we need to capture the scene exactly the way it is before anybody comes in to clean it up.” Once the team interprets the data, they determine who is at fault so that the insurance company can assess claims and decide if they need to pay out damages.
